The DNA of Maria’s creative vision focuses on going back to our roots, learning from our ancestors, and envisioning a future where we redefine what compassion towards each other and our planet can mean. Having a background in biochemistry, it has inspired her to work on deconstructing fashion production practices. First picking up fashion photography as a hobby and then co-founding a women run sustainable clothing collective, itsnotcoolitsweird, has propelled her to think about new ways to create sustainable fashion processes within a typically harmful industry. Currently, she is co-developing an eco-conscious brand designing at the fibre level in a closed-loop system through the transformation of agricultural waste into a textile that is fully recyclable.
